Well this weather is simply pants. Sorry folks but unless we play canoe football it ain’t happening this weekend (29th). Please all do a Sundance for next weekend.
Club News
Bad weather makes for another glum Saturday….
Our amazing coaches have been to the pitch and are sodden and frozen. Let’s not put the juniors through the same so all training and matches for juniors is off for today, Saturday 22 February. It’s a good job there is an extra day in February this year so we can make up for it on the 29th!
STORM DENNIS IS A MENACE TO FOOTBALL….
Sadly, due to the impending Storm Dennis, we at Avonvale have decided to save the childrens’ soggy faces and cancel training / matches on the 15th February. Matches will try to be rescheduled and we will let you know of any updates. Enjoy a lie in and a sofa day!
The FA Charter Standard Youth
Well done team, from one of the first grassroots teams in Gloucestershire to be awarded the Charter Standard all those years ago to present day……
Our club is growing! So we need more volunteer coaches!
As our Club grows once again, we are looking for volunteers who would like to assist with youth coaching on Saturday mornings. Opportunities are available for both FA qualified coaches and those who would either like to assist or begin their coaching career. Please get in touch, we have a wonderful team to support you as you join our fabulous Club.
Happy New Year from Avonvale!
We wish you all the best for 2020 from Avonvale Utd. Just a reminder that new members are always welcome – we have a waiting list for the U9s but please contact us anyway!
Santa came to visit Avonvale!
On Saturday we had a visit from Santa and his lovely elves. The girls and boys loved it, as did the parents! There was football, rain, mud, mince pies and pressies for all! Check out some photos in our new gallery!
Christmas Training Special
A few pics from our Christmas training special!
Merry Christmas!!!
Saturday 14th December will be the last training day of 2019. All age groups will be training at their usual time and we are very excited to announce that we have a very special visitor arriving (possibly not by reindeer pulled sled though anything is possible!) to meet with all the young Valers and to offer them a little gift straight from his workshop at the North Pole.
The Vale Café will be open as usual at 9.30am for all your breakfast requirements, and then later in the morning there will be mince pies, sausage rolls and chocolate to reward all you wonderful supporters for your stamina in all weathers!
Santa will arrive at around 10.30am so please ensure the younger ones who are training first thing hang on to see him, and could the U10s/U11s/U13s ensure they arrive a few minutes early for their training session……you don’t want to miss him!!
Finally……there will be prizes for the best Christmas Jumper on show.
Merry Christmas from us all at Avonvale Utd FC, we hope you enjoy your two weekend break and look forward to seeing you all back in action on 4th January.
***IMPORTANT – Saturday 2nd November***
It may have come to your attention that England are in the rugby World Cup Final on Saturday morning!
Given how huge this is (although in starting to take it for granted with the cricket as well – the footballers need to step up!), we will start training later on Saturday.
U7s, U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s will all start training at 11:45. The U12/13 squad has an away fixture; Christian will be in touch separately about this.
Many thanks in advance for your understanding; we don’t like to mess around with your arrangements, but we were forecasting very low attendance without this adjustment. Hopefully this will give you a chance to take part in an epic sporting event that your child will remember fondly forever. As well as watching the Rugby World Cup Final 😉
COME ON ENGLAND!!!
